Daria fixing up the house, Part 6 - The Sun room.

After a pause of over a year and a half, Daria and I are returning to our "Fixing up the House" series.We live in a house that is almost 100 years old.I moved in a long time ago and Daria moved in with me four and a half years ago.Life before Daria was very busy and I hardly did anything with the house.Now that I have her to help me, we've started fixing up the house one room at a time.This is the sixth entry in the series. Daria fixing up the house, Part 5 - The Bedroom.Even though there has been a 18 month gap in our posting, the work has gone on.Daria retired from modelling so we continued renovating without any pictures.The bedroom is completely finished and then we moved on to the living room and finished that.Daria has now returned to her modelling career so we can fix up the Sun room together.The sun room is our most favourite room is the house and has been the stage for many photoshoots.It is an add on to the original structure.It has large windows on two sides, a wood burning fireplace, and a big TV.What more could anyone want?Daria loves the warm fireplace because she lives by the philosophy that clothing is optional.However the sun room is now showing signs of age.The ceiling has dents in it. The double plane glass windows have lost their inert gas layer and have become cloudy.The wallpaper is faded from the strong sunlight.The linoleum tile floor is ghastly and dirty.The area rug is faded and flattened.My method of attack for all the rooms has been to start at the ceiling and work my way to the floor.That way if I spill anything I don't ruin anything new. I started with painting the ceiling. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this.What's all that swearing going on downstairs?I'm painting the ceiling.And the swearing?Sorry..... I'll make a few donations to the swear jar.Then it was time to replace the windows.Here are two "before" pictures.I never liked that horizontal bar in the window blocking the viewI want to get full glass from top to bottom and maybe casement windows.For the side window I want to replace it with ONE BIG piece of glass.This job is way too big for me, so I got professional help.On the day the windows were being installed Daria and I awoke early.Wheee Haaaa!!!
